Share Incident Messaging with other Authorised Users

(Please note: Support Clusters are only available to BART administrators)

Entire districts have adopted the BART system in certain areas, and we’ve noticed vast benefits to both members and management alike. It makes communication and information sharing easier between neighbouring groups, and provides management with a detailed overview of all ongoing operations within the district.

As a result, we want to offer the same benefits to all our members – regardless of whether you have an entire district on board or not.

Introducing ‘Support Clusters’

Local Support Clusters can be easily setup to help you achieve enhanced communication with your chosen neighbours. They can include two or more groups across multiple agencies to aid in better interoperability. Clusters may also consist of non-operational members of the community for improved situation awareness. Examples include members of local law enforcement agencies, local councils, schools and universities, shopping centres and various support crews.

Support Clusters operate in the same way as formal districts, however your association with other groups is completely optional. Participants will have access to all incidents that occur within the cluster, and will have the ability to communicate with other cluster members whenever required.

Like formal districts, you have the ability to control whether a tone sounds when a new message or alert is received. You can also pick a different tone for all your district/ cluster notifications. For more information on setting your tones for districts, please read this knowledgebase article .

In order to set your cluster up, you must ensure:

  1. You have an agreement with adjoining Fire Brigades, SES Units, Flotillas, Rescue groups, Ambulance branches or Emergency Groups
  2. You notify the BART Team of all brigades, groups and units in your proposed Cluster, and the names of all participants

The BART Team will set up the Cluster and allocate a ‘Cluster Administrator’. The Cluster Administrator will manage the functionality available to the Cluster.
